Creating Icons using Photoshop CS6’s Improved 3D and Vector Shapes

Creating custom shapes and using 3D has never been easier in Photoshop. Both vector shapes and 3D have received some serious attention in Photoshop CS6 and the result is that it’s easy to experiment with designs that would have been too tedious to contemplate in CS5.

In this video we create a very simple 3D gear icon and all in around 10 minutes, real time.

The video also looks at how to export the icon for web use, using the Save for Web command.
