Using Color Channels to Create Lens Distortion
Chromatic Aberration
Chromatic aberration is color distortion effect produced by imperfections in the way camera lenses focus light. Whilst most of the time we want to remove or minimize this distortion, sometimes, when in a playful mood, it can be fun to create the effect.
In this video, using Photoshop 2021, a method for creating chromatic aberration as a cute post processing effect is described and demonstrated.

The Spherize Distortion Filter
The method used here is one of several different ways of creating the effect. The spherize filter is a good method as it can produce an effect the broadly resembles the lens distortion when negative values are used in the filter settings.
